CHALLENGE: How can users view the number of album sales that an artist’s album has sold over a particular frame of time?
SOLUTION: Track the number of album sales an artist’s album made in the year, broken down to month, week, day, and hour.
SUMMARY: The research went very well! My friends gave very thorough answers, some had similar takes and fewer differences. They did open my eyes to other apps that, this one could possibly model. As well as who the target audience should be and how they should be catered to. Minimalism, but informative. Also, a target user group has been more keyed in as it would benefit more reaching out to those that work in the industry, i.e. managers, A&R’s, etc. those that would like to keep up with statistics.

INSIGHTS:
-
Based on the theme that: most of the participants found the cues difficult on where to start, an insight is: users need better cues on where to start to search for a specific artist or to favorite an artist.
-
Based on the theme that: almost all participants were confused by the boxes, an insight is: users need clarification from the boxed images in the digital prototype.
-
Based on the theme that: a few felt the need for all pages (i.e. artist pages) needed to be the same regardless of cues, an insight is: users could benefit from similar pages in the prototype to make more than one way to search for certain artists.
-
Based on the theme that: about everyone could have contributed to a better user experience had they had more detail to go off of, an insight is: users could use more detail in general for the prototype to help guide them through cues and pages to navigate to.
